Draftsman
Other Construction Jobs Information
A. BIM MODELING AND DRAFTING Create and Maintain BIM Models: Develop detailed 3D models of construction elements (Architectural, Structural, MEP, as required) using Autodesk Revit software, ensuring they adhere to project specifications, industry standards, and the company's BIM execution plan. Produce Construction Documentation: Generate clear, accurate, and coordinated 2D drawings from the 3D model, including floor plans, elevations, sections, details, and schedules, suitable for site construction, shop fabrication, and permit submission. Adherence to Standards: Implement and maintain the company's drafting standards, BIM protocols (e.g., family creation, naming conventions, layering), and ensure all work complies with relevant building codes and regulations. Model Coordination and Clash Detection: Actively participate in coordinating models with other disciplines (structural, MEP, etc.) and assist in running clash detection reports (using tools like Navisworks) to resolve spatial conflicts before they occur on site. B. QUANTITY TAKEOFF AND REPORTING (KEY FOCUS) Quantity Extraction: Accurately and efficiently extract and prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQ), material takeoffs, and schedules directly from the Revit models for all relevant disciplines. Estimation Support: Work closely with the Estimation and Procurement teams by providing reliable, model-driven quantity reports to support tender submissions, cost analysis, and material ordering. Progressive Takeoffs: Update and re-extract quantities in line with design variations, client changes, and project progress to maintain a current and reliable project cost baseline. Material Specification: Embed and verify essential non-geometric data (specifications, materials, finishes) within the Revit elements to ensure accurate data extraction for the BOQ.
