Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agronomy, Food Science, Agricultural Engineering, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in groundnut and pepper processing, value addition, and post-harvest management. Strong knowledge of food processing technologies, quality control, and product development. Experience in developing value-added products such as peanut butter, roasted nuts, pepper sauces, and spice mixes is highly desirable. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with farmers, processors, and cross-functional teams. Proficiency in using data analysis tools and Microsoft Office Suite. Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to travel to processing facilities and farming communities as required.

Our client an FMCG Company is seeking an experienced Agronomist with a strong background in groundnut , Gari and pepper processing and value addition. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the entire value chain—from field to processing—to ensure high-quality raw material production, efficient processing, and innovative value addition. This role involves working closely with farmers, processors, and product development teams to enhance product quality, optimize processing techniques, and explore new value-added products. Key Responsibilities: Value Chain Management: Oversee the entire value chain of groundnuts and peppers, from cultivation to processing, ensuring quality and efficiency at each stage. Processing Optimization: Develop and implement strategies to optimize the processing of groundnuts and peppers, including drying, shelling, grading, and milling. Value Addition: Innovate and implement value addition techniques such as roasting, oil extraction, spice blends, and other product enhancements to increase market value. Product Development: Collaborate with R&D and product development teams to create new and improved products based on groundnuts and peppers. Quality Assurance: Establish and maintain quality control measures to ensure the highest standards of product quality and safety throughout the processing chain. Farmer Engagement: Work with farmers to improve crop quality and yield, provide training on best practices for post-harvest handling, and support their integration into the value chain. Sustainability Initiatives: Implement sustainable practices in both cultivation and processing, focusing on waste reduction, energy efficiency, and environmentally friendly processes. Market Analysis: Stay informed about market trends, consumer preferences, and competitive products to identify opportunities for product innovation and differentiation. Training and Capacity Building: Train processing staff on best practices and new technologies in groundnut and pepper processing and value addition. Data Collection and Analysis: Monitor and analyze data related to production, processing, and value addition to make informed decisions and improve processes. Compliance and Certification: Ensure all processing activities comply with local regulations and international standards, pursuing relevant certifications as needed.
