1. Antenatal & Postnatal Care
Conduct antenatal assessments, screenings, and health education.
Monitor fetal growth and maternal well-being.
Provide postnatal care and breastfeeding support.
2. Labour & Delivery Management
Manage the entire labour process and assist women during childbirth.
Conduct normal deliveries safely.
Monitor contractions, fetal heart rate, and progress of labour.
3. Newborn Care
Provide immediate newborn care, resuscitation, and APGAR scoring.
Administer neonatal medications and vaccinations.
Educate mothers on newborn care and hygiene.
4. Family Planning & Reproductive Health
Counsel clients on family planning methods.
Provide reproductive and maternal health education.
5. Emergency Obstetric Care
Respond swiftly to obstetric emergencies such as PPH, eclampsia, and obstructed labour.
Stabilize patients while awaiting medical intervention.
6. Documentation & Medical Records
Maintain accurate records of antenatal visits, deliveries, and postnatal care.
Update partographs, delivery registers, and reports.
7. Health Education & Community Outreach
Educate women and families on safe motherhood, nutrition, and hygiene.
Participate in community health programs when needed.
8. Professional Conduct & Collaboration
Work collaboratively with nurses, doctors, and other midwives.
Maintain confidentiality, empathy, and professional ethics.
