A leading provider of innovative engineering solutions, delivering excellence across diverse sectors including healthcare, hospitality, government infrastructure, and renewable energy. As part of their ongoing expansion are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join their project execution team.
The Mechanical Engineer will play a critical role in the interpretation of MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) drawings and the supervision of all mechanical-related site works. These include plumbing systems, HVAC installations, and split unit air conditioning systems. The role requires a technically sound individual capable of ensuring quality control, adherence to design specifications, and smooth coordination across teams on-site.
Key Responsibilities:
Interpret and review MEP drawings and ensure accurate implementation on project sites.
Supervise and monitor the installation of plumbing systems (water supply, drainage, and sanitary works).
Oversee all HVAC-related activities, including ductwork installation, equipment setup, and system commissioning.
Manage the installation and servicing of split unit air conditioning systems.
Coordinate with other engineering disciplines and construction teams to resolve technical issues on-site.
Ensure all mechanical works are carried out in compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and health & safety regulations.
Conduct quality checks and inspections to ensure adherence to engineering standards.
Provide technical support to subcontractors and site teams throughout the installation and commissioning phases.
Prepare daily/weekly reports on work progress, challenges, and milestones.
Participate in site meetings and liaise with clients, consultants, and other project stakeholders as needed.
Requirements
Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field.
A minimum of 2 years' hands-on experience in mechanical engineering supervision, especially in plumbing and HVAC systems.
Solid understanding of MEP systems and demonstrated ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Experience with split unit installations and HVAC equipment is essential.
Strong problem-solving skills and technical decision-making ability.
Effective communication and leadership skills for guiding on-site teams and liaising with professionals.
Ability to work independently in a dynamic project environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with AutoCAD or related design tools is an added advantage.
