JOB OVERVIEW.
A leading company in the pulp and paper manufacturing sector, specializing in the production of high-quality tissue and sanitary paper products, is seeking an experienced Pulp Engineer to join its operations in Ghana. The company is committed to innovation, sustainability, and operational excellence in delivering essential consumer products across the West African region.As a Pulp Engineer, you will play a critical role in optimizing pulp production processes, ensuring raw material quality, overseeing operational efficiencies, and supporting continuous improvement in the mill’s performance. You will work closely with cross-functional teams including operations, maintenance, and quality assurance to meet production targets while maintaining strict environmental and safety standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES.
Oversee the pulping process from raw material preparation through to final fiber output.
Develop and implement process improvements to increase yield, reduce waste, and lower energy consumption.
Monitor and control chemical usage, water treatment, and other auxiliary systems.
Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and internal safety standards.
Collaborate with maintenance and production teams to reduce downtime and optimize plant efficiency.
Conduct root cause analysis and resolve process-related challenges.
Support the training and development of local plant personnel in best practices.
Prepare regular reports on production metrics, pulp quality, and equipment performance.
Recommend upgrades or changes to equipment and processes for improved productivity.
REQUIREMENT.
Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Pulp & Paper Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum 5 years of experience in a pulp and paper production environment, preferably in tissue or sanitary paper manufacturing.
Strong knowledge of pulping processes, fiber preparation, and chemical recovery systems.
Hands-on experience with process optimization tools, SCADA systems, and quality control instruments.
Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced industrial setting.
Willingness to relocate to Ghana for a full-time role.
Must be a citizen of Nigeria with valid travel documentation.
