EDUCATION/QUALIFICATION
• A relevant technical qualification in construction-related subject and membership of an appropriate institute e.g. Institute of Clerk of Work or equivalent verifiable work-based experience and training.
• 10 to 15 years relevant experience required.
• Previous experience working on MOH projects is an advantage
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
• Able to attend weekly meetings and site meetings as required.
• In-depth knowledge of relevant legislation and statutory authority requirements.
• Building Regulations and related compliance requirements.
• Able to undertake site visits and access all parts of building sites including the use of ladders.
• Able to read a programme and prepare and write progress records.
• Able to read drawings and translate the content to site works.
• Able to prioritize, plan and manage own workload and projects to meet conflicting work demands and deadlines.
• Able to use Microsoft Office software i.e. Word & Excel or equivalent software & also use electronic mail
• Hold a full, valid driving license.
• Fluent in spoken and written English.
• Some experience and knowledge of MOH practices & procedures.

Description
Our client, a construction company is looking to hire a Clerk of Works to help manage its operations in Ghana.
ROLE PROFILE
The successful applicant will be responsible for inspecting the workmanship, quality and safety of workers on construction sites and reports back to senior managers and clients.He/She will conduct regular site inspections and check that building plans are being followed correctly.
RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES
- Provide the highest level of CoW services across all works sites within Project 1532 (Ghana).
- Oversee quality and the safety of the works.
- Ensure building plans and specifications are followed.
- Ensure quality of works and materials are following design specifications.
- Plan, organize and conduct site inspections, ensuring records/inspection reports are produced.
- Investigate and report on all delays, variations and Extensions of Time requests.
- Oversee the works schedule/programme, ensuring and accuracy of delivery.
- Maintain in electronic format site measurements, records, test results, reports and all other site information.
- Produce weekly progress reports on all aspects of the works, including climatic conditions.
- Prepare and attend snagging inspections to the issue of Certificate of Practical Completion.
- Ensure that schedules of defects after handover are maintained and their rectification before the expiration of the defects liability period.
- Maintain daily diary recording subcontractor manpower, works in progress, weather conditions and delays to progress.
