The Accountant will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing financial statements, analyzing financial data, performing treasury functions and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations. Fair knowledge about taxation and other statutory matters for compliance is also required for this position. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Job Roles/ Duties
• Prepare and analyze financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to ensure accuracy and compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Maintain and reconcile the general ledger accounts, including posting journal entries, reviewing transactions, and ensuring proper classification and accuracy of financial data.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor payments, customer invoicing, and collections, to ensure timely and accurate recording of transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and forecasts, including variance analysis and performance tracking against budgeted targets.
• Conduct financial analysis and reporting to support decision-making processes, including profitability analysis, cost allocation, and performance metrics tracking.
• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and ensure compliance with state and local tax regulations, including Value Added Tax (VAT), Corporate Income Tax (CIT) Pay as You Earn (PAYE), Withholding Tax and Pensions management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency enhancements in accounting procedures and systems to streamline workflows and enhance the accuracy and timely delivery of financial reports.
