Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced School Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the school's financial health, preparing accurate financial statements, and ensuring compliance with statutory regulations. This role requires a thorough understanding of accounting principles, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively with other departments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Manage and reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
- Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures to ensure effective financial management.
- Collaborate with other statutory agencies such as the Ghana Revenue Authority, SSNIT, Tier 2 Pension, and District Assemblies to ensure compliance and timely submission of required documentation.
- Maintain and oversee the school's budget, ensuring proper allocation and utilization of funds.
- Monitor and report on financial performance, highlighting any discrepancies or areas of concern.
- Manage payroll processing and ensure timely disbursement of salaries.
- Handle financial audits and coordinate with external auditors as necessary.
- Utilize ERP systems for financial management, with a preference for candidates knowledgeable in QuickBooks.
- Prepare financial presentations and reports using Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
