The Ghana Stock Exchange in partnership with IFC Ghana wishes to invite you to this year's "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" which will be a hybrid of virtual and in-person event on March 8, 2022, from 10.00am to 12noon.  The Theme for the event is "Gender Equality Today for a Sustainable Tomorrow" 

Ghana Stock Exchange is joining the World Federation of Exchange (WFE) and its global partners to "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality". This event is held annually to commemorate the International Women's Day celebration. 

All over the world, women leaders have demonstrated their ability to effectively lead in COVID-19 response and recovery efforts. Gradually, the world is accepting the skills, different perspectives, and valuable contributions to policies, laws, and decisions that women have to offer. It is on this premise that the WFE and its global partners seek to create an avenue that will celebrate these pacesetters and echo loudly the conversations of how women influence their environment, country, and the world as a whole. 

Global partners for the programme include the UN Global Compact, UN Women, Sustainable Stock Exchanges Initiative, International Finance Corporation (IFC), World Federation of Exchanges and Women in ETFs. These institutions are working together again for the 8th consecutive year to organise the "Ring the Bell for Gender Equality" initiative. This year, 110 exchanges will be participating in the event. The aim of these global 'bell ringing' is to bring attention to the pivotal role the private sector can play in advancing gender equality to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals and to raise awareness about the Women's Empowerment Principles (WEPs).
