Marysons A Multilingual UNIVERSITY COLLEGE was founded in 2009, but registered in 2010 as a private tertiary institution with the National Accreditation Board and the Registrar General’s Department under the Ghana Companies Registration Act of 1963 (act 173) to provide: • Teaching and learning at the university level • Corporate training and development • Academic research and educational development. MARYSONS is established as a multilingual tertiary institution (a university college) to provide further education and research leading to the award of degrees, diplomas and certificates. The school shall operate under the following seven (7) departments: Accounting Banking & Finance Human Resource Management Marketing Business Law Information Technology Public Relations Our uniqueness is the fact that all our undergraduate degree students shall complete their selected courses with proficiency in three languages: English, French, and Spanish. Interested students may also specialize in one of the following languages: Chinese, Russia and Arabic.

This internationalization makes it easier for our courses to be accessed by students from all most parts of the world. It is also worth noting that every student shall have at least a semester of training or internship in a selected foreign country before completing their degree programs. We have teaching and non-teaching staff with the requisite knowledge, skills and experience drawn from different parts of the world to deliver our courses and to complement our efforts we hope to work in partnership with several renowned educational institutions and industries in the area of Science and Technology. We believe strongly that academic research has not been given the attention it deserves to make an impact in our industrial development simply because its main focus in most universities has been for the award of degrees.

At Marysons, the story is different, our research focus is business oriented. We will generate research proposals from the industries’ drawing boards and link this to academic work thereby giving academic research the needed vocational context.

This way, we shall promote technology transfers which are virtually missing in most developing countries. It is the policy of the school to remain select and maintain quality education to its students. Marysons will therefore admit in each academic year not more than 100 students, 20 for each department to pursue its courses.

All students with the minimum required grades for university education are eligible to apply for admission. Selected students shall go through an initial assessment before admitted. Our Quality Assurance Section shall ensure that general students’ assessments meet the required standards set by international agencies and that assessors’ work are thoroughly verified both internally and externally. As an international institution we provide holistic educational services to all our students: ü Accommodation ü Transport ü Canteen ü Internet services ü Laundry ü Medicals ü Travel and tour ü Immigration support ü Guidance & Counseling. We intend to offer quality education in an atmosphere of serenity with intellectual decorum and “military discipline” at the same time observing equity in all forms of relationships.

In view of this, we have put in place most modern facilities and logistics to promote very high standard teaching and learning. Our classrooms and laboratories are fully air-conditioned and nicely decorated with 21st century artifacts.

Our class sizes shall be restricted to not more than 20 students at a time to enhance effective teacher-student relationship. Marysons will arrange placements in world class organizations for its students after graduation. Every student’s final project work shall be business oriented.

It is also the policy of the school to give students entrepreneurial orientation and leadership skills. We are proud to train new men and Women for the new Africa. We are located in the beautiful Orchard Estates at ELmina-Essaman via Elmina, the most historic town in Ghana, West of Africa.
