Developing Africa’s Pharma Manufacturing Capacity
"Developing Africa’s Pharma Manufacturing Capacity: Activating Effective Pan-African Collaboration.
The COVID-19 pandemic has accelerated the urgency for developing Africa's Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Capacity. There are growing calls from within Africa to explore more deeply the link between public health policy and industrial policy, especially the role of procurement in advancing or constraining the development of Africa's pharmaceutical industry.
It is also increasingly clear that such an approach will require effective collaboration among Africa countries. The Wits School of Governance (WSG), the National Institute for Pharmaceutical Research and Development of Nigeria (NIPRD), consulting firm NXN Analytics and the National School of Government of South Africa (NSG) will host a Virtual event to explore what is required to activate effective Pan-African collaboration and build Africa's pharma manufacturing capacity.
