Preventing Non-Communicable Diseases
Non-Communicable Diseases (NCDs) are already the leading cause of deaths worldwide and the number of cases is growing rapidly across Africa*. Despite this, NCDs have insufficient prominence in Africa’s health agenda. This year we are celebrating Ecobank Day on Friday 22 October 2021 when we will be raising awareness about mental health.
Our activities are leading up to World Mental Health Day on 10 October. We started a three-year campaign ‘Together for Better Health’ in 2019 to show Ecobank’s commitment to preventing NCDs. We are raising awareness and helping to prevent the incidence of NCDs across Africa.
The annual highlight of the campaign is during our Ecobank Day, our pan-African initiative that takes place in the last quarter of each year, when Ecobank and its staff give back to their local communities.
