Pizza Hut African Literacy Project launch in Accra
As we open the 100th store in Sub-Saharan Africa, Pizza Hut Africa is launching the Pizza Hut African Literacy Project to make a real impact on the continent, using our footprint for good. Over 280 million people in Africa cannot read. By transforming a simple pizza box into a Red Reading Box, we can put books and learning aids into the hands of those who need them most, opening them up to a world of wonder and opportunity. Join Pizza Hut General Manager Ewan Davenport and the Slice of Africa team in Cape Town as they embark on a journey across the continent in the shape of a pizza slice, visiting 14 cities in 12 countries over 22 days to launch a customer donation drive that will ultimately see Red Reading Boxes inspiring children across Africa who are hungry to read. .
