Welcome to the Financial Capacity Building Centre. FCBC, as we called it, is set up to provide Financial capacity building skills to the citizens of mother Ghana.
Our aim is to empower the youth and working adults to develop the necessary money management skills that will help them live their dream life style, gain financial freedom and help love ones and the needy in society. It is the painful truth that, our national academic curricula does not incorporate financial literacy programmes and as result the nation is made of up educated folks bankrupts of personal financial management skills.
The Numerous financial scandals in leadership, corporate organizations, schools and private business entities attest to the low level of financial literacy in the nation, if not totally absent. The problem of lack of money knowledge is causing great disharmony in society.
Just think about Pyram, Resource 5000, DKM savings scams. it is an indication the financial literacy problems has reached an epidemic proportion in our country.
The demise of many micro Finance companies that sprang up like mushrooms few years ago, which are no more; numerous loan impairment of corporate institutions, inability of government to pay contractors , overdue debts due from government to providers of NHIS are some of the results of debilitating effect of financial illitearcy. But there is good news: FCBC , a non profit making organization, is set up to bring a "vaccination" for financial illiteracy for the nation. FCBC has designed financial literacy campaign programme for Junior high schools, senior high schools, university students, local communities, churches , corporate entities, Metropolitan Municipal and District Assembles and women organizations. Through workshop and seminars, we intend to visit as many second cycles schools as our resources will enable us purposely to empower the youth with money management skills that would be very useful when they enter the real world and assume leadership positions. Our programmes through workshop and seminars are 100% educational in nature.
No products will be sold, or marketed. This is part of our effort to raise financial literacy awareness and help the nation cure the pandemic of financial illiteracy.
Professor Robert Hinson, an acclaimed Professor of marketing, of The University of Ghana Business school said " 90% of educated Folks in Ghana lack essential financial literacy to make informed finanacial decision" (December 2016). This is absolutely true.
Most people, enter the real life unprepared for common financial challenges, and the results of this lack of knowledge can have damn consequence on their lives. "We believe that providing comprehensive and practical financial education can help make lasting impact in the life of people and their community as well." says the President of National Financial Educator Council of USA.
