Amansie Central District is located in the southern part of the Ashanti Region, the District is one of the twenty-seven (27) Administrative Districts in the Ashanti Region and one of the 28 newly created District Assemblies in the country, and was established by Legislative Instrument (LI.) 1774, 2004. It has about 206 settlements with Jacobu as the Administrative capital.

The district can be found within Latitude 6000N and 6030N and Longitudes 1000W and 2000W. The total area of the district is about 710sqkm.
