Dento mills
Dento Mills is a Ghanaian business legally incorporated under the company law of the Republic of Ghana. It is located in Accra, Ghana.
The company is engaged in the production of items of exquisite Kente cloth using traditional weaving techniques dating back to the 11th Century products in accordance with the designs and concepts of designers. Due to the quality, craftiness and superb nature of our products, A Kente wall hanging product, from Dento Mills, hangs in the United Nations headquarters in New York. Dento Mills is a brand name in the kente weaving industry, one of the great cultural traditions in Ghana.
It was started by A. E.
Asare and has since been a family business from the 50s. Its current CEO is Mr.
Andrew Kwasi Asare. The head quarters is located Accra Airport on the Liberation road, Ghana.
Our aim is to impart our knowledge of kente weaving and 'Adinkra' printing to the world at large and also provide a platform for people all over the world to own or share this great Ghanaian heritage through our products. This gives both the local and western world an opportunity to learn about African traditional textiles. To achieve the aforementioned target, the management tours Europe and America, organizing workshops for educational institutions.
These workshops create publicity for the company as well as educate participants on the weaving and stamping of African textiles. Through patronage, participants acquire basic knowledge on kente weaving and color perception.
At the end of the workshop, participants are equipped to either start their own textile business or practice it as a hobby. At Dento Mills, we impart our tradition and enhance others ……… .
