Algerian President Abdelaziz Bouteflika decided Monday to maintain Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia and members of his outgoing government.
According to a presidential statement, Bouteflika "received today Ahmed Ouyahia who submitted his resignation" and decided to reappoint him and the whole government "in light of the international timetable and domestic demands."
An exception was Soltani Bouguerra, a minister without portfolio, who quit the government at his own request, the statement added.
Bouteflika was reelected for his third five-year term earlier this month with a landslide 90.24 percent of all the votes cast.
Analysts believed that the reappointment of Ouyahia indicates Bouteflika will continue to implement his major policies of the last decade, such as pushing forward the process of national reconciliation, building a stable and harmonious social environment, developing economy and improving people's living standard.
