The Kwahu South District Assembly on Tuesday confirmed Mr Joseph Omare, the President's nominee for the post of District Chief Executive (DCE) for the area.
At an emergency meeting held at Mpraeso, all the 25 assembly members present voted for him.
Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister, in an address, advised the new DCE to be humble and submissive and co-operate with the assembly members and staff to enhance development in the district.
He also urged Mr Omare to ensure that everyone was treated fairly and to cross-check his facts before reacting.
Mr Ofosu-Ampofo urged the DCE to involve traditional authorities in the development agenda of the district since they were the custodians of the land.
Mr Kwame Ofosu Kissi, Presiding Member of the Assembly, congratulated the DCE and promised to co-operate with him to develop the district.
He commended the assembly members for the matured manner they went about the elections.
Mr Seth Acheampong, Member of Parliament (MP) for Mpraeso assured the new DCE that he would work hand in hand with him to ensure that the area got its fair share of the national cake.
Mr Omare in his acceptance speech thanked the assembly members for giving him the nod to lead the assembly.
He assured them that he would co-operate with all stakeholders to develop the district.
