Torgbui Mawufeame Fugah, Head of the Voltarian Community in the Ashanti and Brong Ahafo Regions said Ghanaians should avoid acts that could jeopardize the serene and peaceful atmosphere being enjoyed in the country ahead of the presidential run-off.
He said the elections should not be considered as an event that could be joked with and that it was necessary for the electorate to comport themselves as advised by the Electoral Commission.
Torgbui Fugah was addressing a Congress of the Voltarian Co-ordinating Council in Kumasi at the week-end.
He stressed the need for supporters of the various political parties to be tolerant of divergent views for social cohesion, political stability and development of the country.
He expressed satisfaction at the maturity with which Ghanaians comported themselves during the December 7 elections and noted that "we should emulate this shinning example for the run-off".
Torgbui Fugah charged Ewes in the two regions to commit resources towards the development of their communities as well as their wards in schools to uplift their living standards.
