Ms Laurentia Kpatakpa, Volta Regional Electoral Officer has described last Sunday's mock security exercise, code named "Operation Peace Angel," as very useful.
She also commended the media for the enthusiasm, co-operation and maturity they exhibited in their coverage of the exercise to test the security strategies towards the December 7 elections.
Ms Kpatakpa gave the commendation at a meeting on Monday to review the exercise.
She pledged the willingness of the Commission to continue to collaborate with the security agencies and other stakeholders towards a successful election in the region and called for punctuality during the elections.
Volta Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP) Bernard Dery, also described the level of "coordination, collaboration and co-operation" among the various security agencies and other stakeholders as the best.
DCOP Dery, also the Chairman of the Regional Elections Security Taskforce, said the exercise afforded the Taskforce the opportunity to test its drills and tactics to ensure a secured atmosphere during the December elections.
He commended the public for its co-operation during the exercise which coincided with a number of political activities in the municipality.
Lieutenant Colonel Emmanuel Kotia, Commanding Officer of the 66 Artillery Regiment urged the security personnel to maintain a high level of urgency in their operations so as to be in peak form for the December elections.
He said the mock exercise was a learning opportunity necessary to sharpen the rough edges before December.
