Politics Election Peace
Ajumako (C/R), Oct. 19, GNA - Okokodurfo Gyeabuo Nana Kwamena Hamma Ababio II, Omanhene of Ajumako Traditional Area, has stressed the need for the various political parties to conduct their electioneering campaign devoid of violence, rancour and intimidation to ensure incident-free polls on December 7.
Nana Ababio said any action likely to undermine the success of Election 2004, would destroy the image of Ghana as: "The most peaceful nation in Africa."
The Omanhene, who is also the President of the Ajumako Traditional Council in the Central Region, was speaking in an interview with the Ghana News Agency at Ajumako on Monday.
He urged political activists to educate their followers on the need to be tolerant to opposing political views.
Nana Ababio also appealed to traditional rulers to join the campaign for peaceful elections, adding: "Politics should not in any way divide us and turn Ghana Down".
