DEFENDING champions, Spintex Knights, continued their title chase with a hard-fought 57–53 victory over the University of Ghana in the second semi-final of the ongoing Accra Basketball League (ABL) Playoffs last Tuesday at the El-Wak Sports Stadium.
The fixture was the second meeting between the two sides in the playoffs. The Knights had won the first encounter 70–41, but after a five-day break, UG returned with renewed intensity, taking control of the first half and led 30–23 at the break.
However, the Knights who recently booked qualification to the BAL Elite 16 showed their championship mentality. They regrouped, tightened their defence, and executed key offensive plays to overturn the scoreline in the final stage to seal a crucial four-point win.
Omari Benjamin delivered an outstanding performance and was named Player of the Match, recording 11 points and nine rebounds, playing a pivotal role in the comeback.
