Eight players have been named NASCO Man of the Match winners following standout performances in this weekend’s Ghana Premier League (GPL) week 4 fixtures.
Each recipient received a NASCO humidifier and a pressing iron as prizes for their efforts.
The ninth award remains pending after the match between FC Samartex and Aduana Stars was postponed due to heavy rains.
At the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park in Bechem, Emmanuel Sefa of Bechem United emerged as the standout player in his side’s goalless draw with Accra Hearts of Oak.
In Swedru, although Swedru All Blacks fell 1–0 to Bibiani Gold Stars, Abdul Aziz of All Blacks impressed the judges enough to earn the Man of the Match award.
Over in Kumasi, Hubert Gyau of Asante Kotoko took the honours after a tense 0–0 draw with Heart of Lions.
At Hohoe, Alkassim M. Haruna of Hohoe United was named the best player after his team’s commanding 4–1 win over Karela United. His captain, Usman Safianu, also made headlines with two goals.
In Dawu, Meshak Adjetey of Dreams FC claimed the top individual accolade in their 1–1 draw with Vision FC.
At Tarkwa, Emmanuel Owusu of Medeama SC, who scored a decisive goal in their hard-fought 2–1 win over Nations FC, walked away with the award.
In Techiman, Eden Kofi Asamoah of Young Apostles was recognised for his sterling performance in their narrow 1–0 win over Eleven Wonders.
At Berekum, Kwasi Sorotu Badori of Berekum Chelsea was adjudged Man of the Match after helping his side to a 2–0 victory over Basake Holy Stars.
The Ghana Premier League continues this weekend with week 5 fixtures, as players aim to build on their performances and stake their claim for future NASCO awards.
