Joe Ralls says Cardiff City have the ability to pull clear of the Championship relegation fight as they prepare for a "massive week" in their season.
Cardiff remain in the drop zone despite claiming five points from their last three second-tier games.
They host Watford on Tuesday – a rearranged fixture which is a game in hand on some clubs at the wrong end of the table – before rivals Swansea City visit the Cardiff City Stadium on Saturday.
Ralls says the Bluebirds' current four-match unbeaten run – which also includes last Thursday's FA Cup triumph at Sheffield United – proves they have the quality to avoid the drop to League One.
"I feel like confidence is starting to come back and momentum is massive in football," said the Cardiff captain.
"We are starting to get a few players back from injury - the squad's looking a bit better with some more numbers.
"There's a long road ahead but if we keep to the standards we have set over the last three [league] games, we will be fine."
Cardiff ended a nine-match winless streak with victory at Watford on 29 December, when they became the first visiting side to win at Vicarage Road this season.
They then overcame the sending off of Callum Robinson – who will return from suspension against Swansea – to secure a home draw with Coventry City before claiming another point at Middlesbrough.
Riza's much-changed side maintained their upturn by upsetting promotion-chasing Blades at Bramall Lane, with Cian Ashford's goal setting up a fourth-round tie at Stoke City.
While there will be another 19 league fixtures to come after this week, Ralls says positive results against Watford, who are ninth, and 12th-placed Swansea could have a big impact on Cardiff's season.
"The rearranged game [against Watford] got put in for the Tuesday, that's a massive game for us," he said.
"It's our game in hand so we are focused on that one first. Then we have the south Wales derby, which is obviously a huge game for us, our fans and everyone associated with our club.
"We have loads of games coming up where we can pick up points. As long as we keep performing as we have in the last couple of weeks, we will pick up points and we'll start moving up to the table."
Ralls' appearance at Sheffield United was his 400th for Cardiff, the club he has played for throughout his senior career aside from a loan spell at Yeovil Town more than a decade ago.
Joe Ralls made his debut for Cardiff as a teenager in the 2011-12 campaign
Ralls is under contract until the end of the season, though he could trigger another year in that deal depending on the number of games he plays in this campaign.
Having made his Cardiff debut in 2011, the 31-year-old hopes there are many more appearances to come.
"To reach 400 games for a club that I love and I have absolutely loved playing for, with so many good memories, I am really glad to hit that milestone," he said.
"I am enjoying my football, loving being captain of this group.
"We have a great group of lads in there, all working hard and a mix of youth and experience. It's a pleasure to be playing with these boys and I want to keep it going for as long as possible."
