Bibiani Gold Stars continued their impressive run with a 2-0 victory over Aduana FC at the Dun’s Park yesterday to solidify their position at the top of the league standings.
The Miners started brightly, with Ronald Frimpong opening the scoring just six minutes into the match. Coach Frimpong Manso’s team dominated the first half, controlled possession and dictated the pace, heading into the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
In the second half, Gold Stars secured the cushion they needed when Samuel Atta Kumi found the back of the net in the 73rd minute to double their lead. With a comfortable 2-0 scoreline, the Miners saw out the game without giving Aduana FC a way back.
The win extends Gold Stars' unbeaten home streak and marks their fourth consecutive victory. They now enjoy a one-point lead at the top over Asante Kotoko who closely trail in second place.
For Aduana FC, this defeat adds to their struggles, marking their third loss of the season. Despite a morale-boosting win over Dreams FC last weekend, the ‘Ogya’ lads are still in the danger zone and will need a positive result when they host Medeama in their next fixture.
Meanwhile, Bibiani Gold Stars will face a stern test in their next match as they travel to Accra to take on Hearts of Oak in what promises to be a tricky encounter.
