The 22-year-old Allotey is coming off claiming a 4th straight win at the beginning of his pro career last Friday, stopping Nathaniel Nukpe in 3 at the Cabic Big Fight Night which rocked the Idrowhyt Event Centre at Dansoman in Accra.

Young Allotey who won a bronze medal in flyweight boxing during the Accra 2023 Africa Games back in March and also competed for qualification to Paris 2024 Olympics, albeit unsuccessfully from Senegal through Italy to Thailand, hanged his amateur gloves and entered the paid ranks in July and has defeated all opponents thus far via stoppages.

Now his team deems it the right time to give the youngster some international exposure with the British Cayman Islands as their destination of choice where the boxer is guaranteed first class training facilities as well as opportunities to train and spar with top class fighters and Olympians, among others.

“This is a very good opportunity for me to improve my skills and learn how to be a better boxer. I am very grateful to my team for this opportunity,” Allotey told Graphic Online before departure on Tuesday night.

“The ultimate target is to become a world champion but I have to begin at the bottom and I’m excited by how my pro career has started. I am coming for all the flyweights in Ghana when I return,” he added.

Top of the list of potential opponents include Allotey’s former Black Bombers teammate, Mohammed Aryeetey a.k.a. Golden Star who Allotey is keen to put in his place over apparent badmouthing in the boxing fraternity after Aryeetey was overlooked in favour of Allotey to the Olympic boxing qualifying tournament in Thailand in May 2024.

“We were offered a deal to fight with Mohammed Aryeetey for the national title on Agbeko’s upcoming show and we were willing to expand that with multiple continental titles but Aryeetey did not sign the contract,” said an insider at Wisdom Boxing Promotions who manage Allotey.

“I think he is scared, because he’s been discrediting Theophilus on various channels about his selection over him for the Olympics qualifiers. So it’s surprising he did not take the fight to show people he’s the better fight,” the source explained.
