Black Stars head coach Otto Addo is confident his team won’t concede goals off long balls into its territory.
Otto Addo spoke about how confident he was about preventing this situation from happening in his pre-game presser ahead of Ghana’s 2025 AFCON qualifier against Angola on Thursday, September 5 at 16:00 GMT at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi.
Tomorrow’s game is the first of a two legged tie involving Ghana and Angola and after struggling to deal with long balls that directly led to two goals conceded in a 4-3 win over Central African Republic in a 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, Otto Addo believes this won’t happen moving forward.
“We had problems with that (conceding from long balls). For me, it’s not particularly easy to work particularly on that because we just had three days of training so it’s not that easy. It’s more about technical things in general, individual tactics which we have to improve and we addressed it and I’m convinced this won’t happen again.”
