Juventus eased to a 3-0 victory against Cesc Fabregas' newly-promoted Como in Thiago Motta's first competitive game in charge.

Belgian forward Samuel Mbangula and USA winger Timothy Weah both scored in a dominant first-half display, before Andrea Cambiaso added a third in stoppage time.

Motta, who led Bologna to the Champions League with a fourth-placed finish in Serie A last season, joined Juventus following Massimiliano Allegri's departure in May.

The Old Lady are seeking their first Serie A title in four years, while Como are back in the top flight after a 21-year absence.

Fabregas - the former Arsenal, Chelsea and Barcelona midfielder - has stepped up into a manager's role this season having been an assistant manager at the club during their promotion last season.

Mbangula, 20, making his debut for Juventus, opened the scoring with a well-hit effort from the edge of the box.

The hosts doubled their lead at the end of the first half when Weah converted a cross from Kenan Yildiz for his first goal of the campaign.

Italy international Cambiaso, 24, sealed the victory in stoppage time with a fantastic curled effort into the bottom left-hand corner.

Juventus travel to Verona in their next Serie A fixture on 26 August, while Como visit Cagliari.
