The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) has officially confirmed the draw procedures for the upcoming African Games Accra 2023.
A total of 9 teams in the Men’s and 8 in the Women’s categories will be engaged in the official draw set to take place on Thursday 01 February in Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire.
The 13th edition of African Games will take place in Ghana’s capital of Accra between 08 and 24 March 2024.
For the men’s category, the CAF Executive Committee resolved that the eight quarter-finalists at the TotalEnergies U-20 Africa Cup of Nations Egypt 2023, together with hosts Ghana, will qualify for the event.
In the women’s category, teams that participated in the fourth qualifying round of the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup Costa Rica 2022 will qualify for the Final tournament.
Teams to be engaged in the draw:
Men: Benin, Congo, Gambia, Ghana, Nigeria, Senegal, South Sudan, Tunisia, Uganda.
Women: Ghana, Cameroon, Ethiopia, Morocco, Nigeria, Senegal, Tanzania, Uganda.
