According to the coach, veteran captain John Mikel Obi, who is back from a surgery-induced layoff, will be at the top of that list.

He will be joined by former Chelsea teammate Victor Moses, along with forward Odion Ighalo, who has hit fine scoring form in China. Defender Leon Balogun returns too.

Rohr told SCORENigeria: "Mikel Obi is coming back after his injury. We missed him very much. Also, Victor Moses and Leon Balogun will also return to the team."

Also expected back is much-maligned goalkeeper Daniel Akpeyi, who bore the brunt of the popular blame in June's Afcon qualifying loss to South Africa.

Nigeria will face Cameroon twice in the first week of September, and the matches are vital to the Super Eagles' hopes of qualifying for the Russia showpiece.
