20-year-old Iheanacho was confirmed as a Leicester player on Thursday, ending his three-and-a-half-year stay with Manchester City, and told LCFC TV that he was delighted to have joined the 2016 Premier League champions.

"If you look, you see they have great players that will help me, and so will my friends Ndidi and Musa," Iheanacho began. "They'll help me to improve and know everything and settle down.

"I spoke with the ex-international Nigeria players that have played in the Premier League, they gave me advice and I'm happy that I'll see my guys Ndidi and Musa. I can't wait to meet my teammates, make friends with everyone and crack on with them."

Iheanacho made a positive start to life as a Premier League player, but found his options at the Etihad Stadium limited following the arrival of Pep Guardiola.

The Spanish coach opted to recruit another forward - Gabriel Jesus - in January, but Iheanacho believes that in Leicester coach Craig Shakespeare, he has a manager who will have faith in his qualities.

"It feels good and I'm happy to be part of this team," Iheanacho continued. "I know the ambition of the team and speaking with the manager, he let me know what I need to do - to help the team achieve what they want. I was convinced and I'm happy to be here.

"It gives me more confidence that I will fit in this team and hopefully I'll achieve a lot."

After watching from the outside as the Foxes lifted their first Premier League title, the Nigerian has vowed his new team to win more honours.

"The club has achieved something big -- winning the Premier League is a great honour," he added. "I'll work really hard to help them achieve more in the future."

Despite being linked with a move to the likes of West Ham United, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur, Iheanacho is confident that he's made the right decision in joining the East Midlanders.

"It's a great decision for me to come here, not just to develop but to help the team achieve their goals and make the most of it. It's the right move for me.

"I think the team is really strong," he continued. "If you look in the last two seasons, there has been a lot of progress in this team. Young or old, everybody is bringing everything that they've got and I will give everything.

"It will be a massive challenge and I'm happy to accept the challenge. I'm happy to be here, work hard and take the opportunities that will come."

Shakespeare revealed that the Foxes have been long-time admirers of the Nigeria international, and the coach is clearly keen to oversee the wonderkid's development, which appeared to have stalled in Manchester.

"It's a great signing for us," he began. "Kelechi is an enormously talented player that has shown a huge amount of promise at every level in which he's played.

"We've tracked his progress for some time, so we know how much quality he'll bring to the squad. He's young, he's hungry, he's ready for the next stage of his development and I'm delighted that will be with Leicester City."

Iheanacho scored 21 goals in 61 appearances for Manchester City and could be in line to make his Leicester City debut in Friday's friendly against Borussia Monchengladbach at the King Power Stadium.

He could also see some action when Leicester kick off the new Premier League campaign away at Arsenal on Friday 11 August, a match which could see him pitted against international roommate and best friend Alex Iwobi.
