Ghanaian defender Jonathan Mensah has undergone an MRI scan to determine the extent of a thigh injury he picked up in Columbus Crew's 3-2 win over Portland on Saturday.
The centre back sustained the injury after a collision with Diego Valeri while sliding in the 70th minute.
Mensah lay on the pitch for a couple minutes before Alex Crognale came on as a replacement in the 73rd.
After the game, Crew coach and sporting director Gregg Berhalter said Mensah had a "right thigh injury" that would be evaluated later.
Mensah was making a return to the side after serving a one-match ban.
He now faces a nervous wait as a negative result could see him ruled out for at least the next two weeks.
