Apostle Martin Anie Amoah, General Overseer of the Global Outreach and Apostolic Ministry, has advised political leaders against indulging in activities that stir up conflict but rather direct their energies towards meaningful nation building.
Additionally, instead of always blaming each other and using all kinds of foul language against their opponents, they should strive for
the country’s prosperity in unity.
Apostle Anie Amoah was delivering an address to climax the Fifth Anniversary Celebration of the Global Outreach and Apostolic Ministry, at Dome on Sunday.
Under the theme: “Celebrating the Goodness of God,” activities like marriage seminars, clean-up exercises and prayers marked the anniversary.
He advised political party leaders to instil in their followers the virtues of unity and the ability to accommodate opposing views to maintain peace in the country.
“Political leaders are people we look up to in the society so whatever they say go a long way to influence their followers,” he explained.
The Apostle admonished party followers not to let their sentiments about their opponents prevent them from doing what is noble because followers are the most affected in times of crisis.
“You hardly see any of these leaders being injured or killed in a political violence, it’s the party loyalists who hurt themselves and
some end up loosing their lives, so they should not act on the negative they hear from their leaders,” he advised.
The Right Reverend Dr Kweku Nsiah Agyarko, Executive Director, Global Council of Churches and Ministers and the Presiding Bishop of the Great Seed Chapel International, stressed the need for Christians to change their attitudes towards the commandments of God.
He said obeying the commandment is a determining factor for God’s blessings for a country.
“If we expect the blessings of God on our lives and that of the country, we must change our minds towards him; our attitudes have tied
the hands of God from blessing us,” he said.
He expressed hope for a successful, peaceful general election next year and encouraged Ghanaians not to be alarmed by what was
happening in neighbouring countries like Cote D’ Ivoire and Nigeria.
“God would not permit any calamity to befall the country if the people would obey and do what is acceptable in the sight of God,” he declared.
