Madam Emelia Arthur, out -going Shama District Chief Executive on Sunday called on Ghanaians to exhibit discipline in all sphere of national life, in order to promote the better Ghana Agenda.
She said the promotion of work etiquette must start from the homes to the communities and work places to promote national development.
Madam Arthur, who is also the Deputy Western Regional Minister designate made the call when she addressed a school parade in the district to mark the 54th Independence anniversary celebration.
She noted that without discipline Ghana could not achieve its development objectives.
Madam Arthur said littering the environment with garbage especially the beaches was a bye-product of indiscipline.
She said the district assembly had instituted an award for best students in the area in order to raise the fallen standards of education.
Consequently, two students, Miss Alberta Prempeh and Master Eric Addo who had aggregate eight and nine in the Basic Education Certificate Examination were presented with cash donation to support their education.
Madam Arthur said the students would be supported to complete their senior high school education.
Madam Florence Inkoom, District Director of Education advised the students to eschew negative practices like cheating in examinations, playing truancy and stealing, which she said would retard their success and progress in life.
Children from four kindergarten schools staged a play on the Ghana’s Big Six, who facilitated the process towards Ghana’s independence, winning the admiration of the audience.
