US President Barack Obama had a telephonic conversation with Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah, wishing him a speedy recovery after his recent surgery in New York, the White House said.
"The President told the King that, in light of their shared commitment to Lebanon's welfare and to supporting Prime Minister Hariri, he looks forward to continuing to work together with Saudi Arabia and other partners to support Lebanon's sovereignty, independence, and stability," it said in a statement.
Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had met King Abdullah last week.
The king, who is about 86 years old, flew to New York on November 22, where he underwent a back surgery.
