The Member of Parliament for Mfantseman West, Mr Aquinas Tawiah Quansah, has donated 100 bags of cement with GH¢1,280 from his personal resources to Kwegyir Aggrey Senior High School at Anomabo to be used on ongoing projects.
He has pledged to assist the school to complete work on the girls' dormitory and provide beds for the dormitory with his share of the GETFund.
Speaking to the Ghana News Agency after presenting the cement, Mr Quansah said he was moved by the plight of the students when he visited the school and assured them that he would do everything possible to make them comfortable in the school.
He also appealed to the chiefs and citizens of Anomabo to assist the school.
"The school must be raised to the status befitting Dr Kwegyir Aggrey, the great son of the town whom the school is named after," he said and appealed to women, whose education Dr Aggrey fought for, to come out and help the school.
He said the government and the Mfantseman Municipal Assembly might play their roles but they alone could not do all to make the school what they wanted it to be and called on the citizens to show their respect to the learned Dr Aggrey by raising the standard of the school.
Mr Quansah said a massive rehabilitation of roads in the municipality would be undertaken after the rains had subsided and appealed to the
communities along Anomabo/Taido road to exercise patience for the time to come.
