Deputy Foreign Minister Kim Jae-shin will make a four-nation African trip next week as part of efforts to strengthen South Korea's diplomacy toward the remote continent, the ministry said Friday.
Kim's visit to Tanzania, South Africa, Angola and Zimbabwe is also aimed at assessing the working and living conditions of South Korean diplomats stationed in those countries to improve their situations, the ministry said in a statement.
Kim will leave Sunday and return home on Dec. 5, it said.
His trip includes meetings with Tanzania's foreign minister, South Africa's deputy minister of international relations and cooperation,
Angola's vice foreign minister and Zimbabwe's foreign minister, the ministry said.
Kim will also hold meetings with South Korean nationals and businessmen there, it said.
