A number of development projects being funded
under the District Assembly�s Common Fund by the New Juaben Municipal Assembly are at various stages of completion.
The projects include the construction of three-storey block of offices and stores at Srodae-Pentoawala at a contract sum of GHC 453,668.38 and beads market at Adweso-Koforidua at a cost of GHC 246,865.82.
Others are a car port at the Jackson�s Park at a contract sum of GHC 74,173.30, a three-storey Block of Stores and offices, Block �B� (Phase 2A) at Central Mosque Area, Koforidua, being undertaken by Kingdwoso Enterprise
at a contract sum of GHC 298,545.25.
Mr Alex Asamoah, the Municipal Chief Executive who was speaking at the fourth ordinary meting of the fourth session of the assembly in Koforidua on Tuesday, also mentioned another project as the construction of market stores
at Graphic Corporation area under direct labour at a cost of GHC 50,000.00.
On Social Investment Fund (SIF), he said work on 21 SIF sub-projects that started in 2009 is progressing steadily adding that seven of them had been completed and six are near completion with the remaining ranges from 50 percent to 70 percent completion.
Under District Development Fund (DDF), the assembly has bought a cesspit emptier at a cost of GHC 87,500.00 and awarded a contract for the
rehabilitation of the Main Koforidua/Accra Lorry Park and construction of Station Complex Block at a cost of GHC 979.991.44�.
Mr Asamoah said the assembly was working to improve school infrastructure by constructing a six-unit classroom block and ancillary facilities at Saint Anne�s Anglican and AME Zion schools under the Ghana Education Trust Fund schools under tree project.
Other projects are being executed are the Akwadum Bridge over the Bediasea River, completion of Jumapo Junior High School (JHS) block and construction of three-unit classroom block at Akwadum and rehabilitation of Municipal Assembly JHS block.
Mr Asamoah thanked the assembly members for their immense sacrifices and expressed the hope that most of them would either contest or get
appointed to come back to the House to continue to offer their experiences and knowledge for the development of the municipality.
