Mr. Okatakyie Amankwa Afrifa, Western Regional Assistant Secretary of the New Patriotc Party (NPP), has called on Ghanaians to vote for a leader during the 2012 general elections and not a manager.
He said Ghana needs a dynamic leader and not a business manager to transform the nation by mobilising the people for accelerated development.
Okatakyie Amankwaa Afrifa said this when he was welcoming first year students of the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) officially into the Tertiary Education Confederacy of NPP(TESCON ) in Tarkwa on Thursday.
"Ghanaians voted for a manager and not a leader, that is why the governance of the country is now moving at a slower pace", he stressed.
Okatakyie Afrifa urged members of TESCON to form communication teams to speak on behalf of the party adding that the team when formed should speak with facts and not vain propaganda.
He entreated the members to give of their best and work assiduously on every assignment that will be given them come 2012.
Launching the TESCON membership card, the Western Regional Youth Organiser, Abdul Ganiyu Mohammed, said the membership card will hold data of all members and create a sense of oneness and also enhance the payment of dues.
The former Tarkwa Nsuaem Municipal chief Executive, Mr. George Mireku Duker, called on party members to put aside all factionalisms in the party but it was time party members come together to wrestle power from the NDC come 2012.
