The Director of Christian Leadership Training Institute(CLTI) at Amrahia, Pastor Stephen Ofori-Amanfo, has observed that politicians who faithfully serve their countries and the world
at large to the benefit of humankind, are equally doing the work of God.
He explained that the work of God is expected to be done in every sphere of human endeavour.
Pastor Ofori-Amanfo was speaking in an interview with the GNA at Amrahia in the Adentan Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
He emphasized the need for politicians to see themselves as God's stewards who were shepherding his flock and must therefore be wary of their actions and inactions.
The Pastor maintained that as leaders in responsible positions, politicians could not extricate themselves from the popular maxim espoused in the scriptures that "righteousness exalts a nation but sin is a reproach to every nation".
According to Pastor Ofori-Amanfo, "a politician could even be more righteous than a pastor if the former is always conscious of what God expects him to do."
He said, "God has chosen leaders to serve his people, as such when a leader executes his mission well, it is an accomplishment of the purpose of God and the advancement of society".
The Pastor observed that most Christians in leadership positions were not living above reproach and urged them to exhibit their Christian
principles at their work places for the benefit of society.
