Madam Mary Hayford, Womens Organizer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP)in the New Town Electoral area within the Senya Awutu Constituency, yesterday urged members to get involved in the campaign for the party to win power in the 2010 general election.
She said they could not afford to be apathetic because their other political party opponents had already begun campaigning, so there was the need for their massive involvement.
Addressing members of the NPP at New Town, a suburb of Kasoa, Madam Hayford asked women not to feel ashamed to canvass for the party. After
all, the ultimate objective is to get the party to win power and develop the nation.
Madam Hayford said the NPP government under President Kuffour introduced some beneficial social interventions, namely the National Health Insurance Scheme, School Feeding Programme, Capitation Grant and Free medical care for
pregnant women, among others.
She said the NPP would do more if voted into power, adding that Nana Akufo Addo with his vast experience, was capable of continuing the good
works of the NPP.
Madam Hayford urged women in NPP to remain united to enable them to generate support for the party.
