The Kwahu-South District Assembly realized GH�
138,926.63 from its Internally Generated Fund (IGF) as at the end of June this year, out of the annual expected revenue of GH� 238,977.95 representing 58 percent.
The District Chief Executive, Mr Joseph Omari, announced this at the second ordinary meeting of the forth session of the assembly at Mpraeso on Friday.
He said the assembly initiated a number of development projects, such as construction of 10 boreholes, KVIP place of convenience, small water
system to extend portable water to a number of communities, and a 10- room guest house at Asakraka.
Other projects includes the construction of septic tank and places of convenience at Obo, Nketepa, Desease, Atuobikrom and Kwahu Praso.
It has also constructed a three-unit classroom block for the Kwahu Praso II Presby Primary A, Asakraka D/A Primary and Asempa D/A Primary schools and an ICT/Library centre at Mpraeso.
Mr Omari said the Government and the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA) were also constructing a number of roads, classroom blocks and boreholes in some of the communities, to raise the standard of living of the people.
He said the Okwahuman South Insurance Scheme had registered 89,930 people, representing 62.82 percent of the district population.
Mr Omari said GH� 111,708.43 had been realized from premium registration and over 1,500 pregnant women had also benefited from free
maternal care package since the past five months.
The Presiding Member of the Assembly, Mr Frank Ofosu Kissi, urged the assembly members to be tolerant and contribute positively towards the
development of the district.
