Stars will touch down in Angola on Saturday to take part in a charity match to raise funds for the development of football academies in the country.
The stars match takes place next Saturday (09/01) at the Coqueiros stadium from 16:00 featuring a number of world football legends who are scheduled to arrive soon for the charity match. Big names include Edson Arantes do Nascimento “Pelé” and Eusébio Ferreira da Silva “the Black Panther” who are set to thrill fans in Angola with some enterprising footwork on the pitch of play.
Also expected keep the fans on the edge of their seats is Luís Figo, Rui Costa, Romário, Ronaldinho Gaúcho, João Pinto and Victor Baía who are yet to confirm their presence.
This is a social project under the responsibility of the Savings and Credits Bank (BPC), which aims at raising funds for the development of the football schools Norberto de Castro and Cadengues do Akwá.
No tickets shall be sold but just a t-shirt priced at 2,500 Kwanza, for all those interested to attend the match t-shirts can be acquired from the BPC branches.
The marketing and communications director of the BCP, Sónia Antas, guaranteed that all the conditions for holding the match are already created.
“The stadium opens its doors at 14:00. The match begins at 16:30 with a tribute to Angolan sport and to those athletes who have always put great efforts on bringing the name, the colours and the hymn of our country across the national borders”.
The shirts for the match are already on sale on the branches of the BPC.
“On Saturday, we won’t be from Petro or 1º de Agosto. We will be only the supporters and lovers of Angolan sports. Our goal is to encourage the practice of sports in Angola, of football, in particular”, she said.
Interest people may buy their shirts in the central agencies of the Savings and Credits Bank in Baleizão, Miramar, 10 de Dezembro and 21 de Janeiro and in the agencies of Calemba, Nelito Soares, Sagrada Família and Luanda Island.
During the match, the late Angolan player, Miguel Arcanjo, one of the best defenders ever, who starred in FC Porto, will be honoured for being an athlete that the President of the Republic, José Eduardo dos Santos, have always admired.
Miguel Arcanjo played in Sporting of Benguela, followed by FC Porto and the Portuguese national team. It is of the organization expectation to achieve funds for football schools. Akwá, Ndunguidi, Abel Campos, Amaral Aleixo, Paulão, Loth and Mendinho are the former national players that will also play in the match.
