The application for stay of execution was filed at the High Court, pending processes filed at the Supreme Court to quash orders of the High Court for collation of the results.

Checks at the High Court indicate that so far, lawyers for the Electoral Commission (EC), led by Justin Amenuvor, have filed the affidavit in opposition to the stay of execution, pending appeal, while lawyers of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) are yet to file.

Constituencies 

On Saturday, January 4, 2025, the High Court, presided over by Justice Forson Baah Agyapong, granted a mandamus application filed by NPP parliamentary candidates. 

The court, in its judgment, ordered the EC to collate the outstanding parliamentary results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central, Techiman South and Ablekuma North and declare the winners since the EC could not complete the collation exercise before some purported declarations were made.

Following the order, the EC has since collated the polling station results for Okaikwei Central, Tema Central and Techiman South constituencies.

Consequently, NPP’s Patrick Boamah was declared the winner for the Okaikwei Central Constituency, while Charles Forson, who contested on the NPP ticket, also won Tema Central. The Techiman South seat went to Martin Kweku Agyei Korsah, also an NPP candidate.

However, as of press time yesterday, the EC was in the process of collating the seven outstanding polling stations in the Ablekuma North Constituency ahead of the declaration of the final results.
