President-Elect John Dramani Mahama has announced a six-member team to oversee and coordinate national security issues pending substantive appointments.
The team will be led by former Minister for the Interior, Prosper Douglas Bani.
Other members of the team include Lt. General Peter Augustine Blay, a retired Chief of Defence Staff, Kofi Totobi Quakyi, a former Minister for National Security and Larry Gbevlo-Lartey, a former National Security Coordinator.
Also in the team is Brigadier General (Rtd) Fuseini Iddrissu and Commissioner of Police (Rtd) Nathaniel Kofi Boakye.
The team's mandate begins on Tuesday, January 7, 2025.
This move is seen as a strategic step to ensure a seamless transition of power and maintain stability in Ghana's national security apparatus.
