The Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) has reminded election officials tasked with vote counting at polling stations and collation centres that it was a serious offence to intentionally falsify vote counts or submit false returns of votes.
In a statement dated December 2, 2024, the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, reaffirmed the commitment to safeguard the integrity of the 2024 elections.
He advised those involved in the transmission and publication of election results to strictly abide the law.
The OSP said he will utilise his anti-corruption mandate to prevent, control, and combat corruption, fraud, and any unfair practices during the elections.
"The OSP reminds the public that the law prohibits corrupt acts in relation to the elections. It is a serious offence to engage in vote buying, vote selling, intimidation, threats of violence, acts of violence, or impersonation of a voter or an electoral officer," he stated.
