MrNdebugrepassed away on  May 6, 2022 at his residence in Zebilla after complaints of chest pains.

Expected to close yesterday, some dignitaries around and beyond the country have paid homage and poured in their tributes to mourn the former MP.

A visit by the Ghanaian Times to the late MP’s residence in Accra on Friday showed that high ranking personalities including the former MP for Garu in the Upper East Region, Dominic Azumah Azimbe; Mahama Ayariga, Bawku Central MP and Benjamin Anyagre, the immediate past Executive Director, Kwame Nkrumah Ideological Institute had mourned the late MP.

Vladimir Ndebugre, the first son of the late MP and a lawyer told the Ghanaian Times that “the Ndebugre family, Ghana and the world at large had lost a colossus.”

He revealed that his father was in good health until his demise last Friday when he complained of chest pains, and as such debunked false reports of his father dying after a short illness.

Mr Ndebugre said his father stood for “social justice for all his life,” coupled with truthfulness and that was a legacy that would be lived on.

“His lifestyle has been the same, modest, sincere and straight to the point.”

The first son of the late MP said arrangement were underway to give his father a befitting burial.

The first born and only female child of the late MP, Patience Ndebugre who is also a lawyer stressed that “my father was a wonderful man” and one who stood for the truth and helped in the country’s fight for democratic rule.

She noted that her father wanted to do so much for the country but could not do because of he could not have done that alone.

Ms Ndebugre said the news of her father’s death came us a surprise to them as he was in good health adding that “but he predicted his death though. It looks like he knew when he will be existing.”

“She said he jokingly said so, but we did not take him serious. He has done his bit, he has finished his work. We just have to focus on his good works, celebrate him and give him a befitting burial for him to know that his labour was not in vain.”

The lawyer said their late father taught them not to be covetous but content, truthful and have a good name.

The late politician and lawyer was known to be vociferous person who shared strong views on pertinent national issues, spoke on many legal and political issues in the media, as he was often relied upon as a resource person.

The late Ndebugre pursued a degree in chemical engineering at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, was subsequently called to the bar in 1988 after reading law and served in other capacities until he fell out with the late former President Jerry John Rawlings.

He left behind a widow and four children.

The private legal practitioner hails from Tinmonde in the Bawku West District of the Upper East Region.
