Nana Ofori Amoah cited the ‘planting for food and jobs’, ‘fee-free senior high school (SHS) education’, ‘restoration of the teacher and nurse trainee allowances’ and the planned introduction of the ‘Nation Builders Corps’, targeting at employing 100,000 graduates.

He said the government had within the past 10 months demonstrated that it was meant serious business - eager to transform the lives of Ghanaians.

He therefore called for everybody to give it their strong backing for successful implementation of its development vision.

Nana Amoah was welcoming the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr. Alexander Frimpong, to Atwedie, during a visit to gauge its felt needs.

The MCE has been touring the communities to interact, listen to the development concerns of the people and how to address these.

The Akwamuhene said it was in the interest of all that the government succeeded in building a society that worked for everybody.

He encouraged the people in the area, predominantly farmers, to take advantage of the ‘planting for food and jobs programme’ to improve their livelihood.

He praised the MCE for deepening the engagement with the people – to help them to be part of the local governance and asked that this was sustained.

Mr. Frimpong pledged to ensure an open, transparent and accountable governance.

He added that development projects would be evenly distributed and that no community would be denied their fair share of development.
