The Zimbabwean High Commissioner to Ghana, Mrs. Pavelyn Tenclai Musaka has assured Ghana of her country's desire to strengthen the existing bilateral relationship between the two countries.
A statement issued by the Public Relations Directorate of the Ghana Armed Forces said Mrs Musaka called on the Armed Forces to explore the experiences in military training and peacekeeping operations with their Zimbabwean counterparts.
During a courtesy call on the Minister for Defence, Lt. Gen. Joseph Henry Smith at his office, the High Commissioner also expressed the need for an exchange programme for Junior and Staff colleges in addition to directing staff of the two countries.
The statement said Mrs. Musaka also expressed the need for Ghana to improve her relations with Zimbabwe in the areas of entrepreneurship, trade, the private sector, foreign investment and commercial agricultural activities.
It said Lt. Gen. Smith agreed with the High Commissioner on the Ghana-Zimbabwe collaboration for mutual benefits.
He said Zimbabwe had gained recognition for her military's professionalism and immense contribution to national development and wished the two countries would continue to share ideas towards ensuring peace on the African continent.
