South Korea's health authorities confirmed two additional cases of A/ H1N1 flu virus infection on Monday, raising the confirmed case toll to 41.
The authorities said that a 32-year-old woman, who has been pregnant for three months, arrived from the United States recently, and went through a thorough examination afterwards.
However, as the patient showed light symptoms, the authorities allowed her not to take any antiviral medicine due to worries over the embryo.
Another 53-year-old female Korean-American was also confirmed with the flu after arriving from the United States on May 31.
With the recent new cases, South Korea's A/H1N1 flu confirmation toll stands at 41.
Another A/H1N1 flu case was diagnosed on Monday in Israel, bringing the total number in the Jewish state to 26, local news service Ynet reported.
The patient, a 19-year-old was hospitalized at Sheba Medical Center at Tel Hashomer after being diagnosed with the virus, said the report, adding that doctors said the youth is in good condition.
The youth contracted the virus in Israel from a friend who returned from the United States, added the report.
Over the past few days, Israeli health authority diagnosed several influenza A/H1N1 cases since the outbreak of the influenza.
According to the World Health Organization, 53 countries had officially reported 15,510 cases of A/H1N1 infection, including 99 deaths, as on Friday.
